ART LEDGES

Don't ruin your walls! Your love of decorating doesn't have to ruin your walls with nail holes as Kay Holsted, from RedBird Vintage Home, explains. Utilize art ledges and save your walls.

fame, uses art ledges in decorating.

Hola!  I am Kay of RedBird Vintage Home (pillows!), and guest blogging for Lola's! When it comes to decor, I definitely have a love/hate relationship with my spousal equivalent -- I LOVE to redo, while HE hates holes in our plaster walls! I like to call myself a serial re-doer, he can't grasp the concept and likes things the way they WERE (insert expletive here.

This is where art ledges come to the rescue.  I have seen and admired them on Pinterest and all over blogland.  When I saw the simple, rustic art ledges at Lola's, I was inspired! I drug spousal equivalent into the shop to have a look-see and asked him to replicate said-same in our dining room.

He recycled an old door frame from our remod, here at the bungalow, leaving the chippy paint and old hardware intact!  He even made the brackets himself by bending some metal -- is there nothing he can't do?  Yes, I'm a lucky gal.  And him?  He's been a sometimes reluctant pupil of the "Kay way" for the past 15 years.  (Expletive deleted).

Great use of carrying the black and white theme,
even through artwork displayed on ledges.
