Decorating is all about style.
Most people love decorating. Everyone has their own style. Your unique style is reflected in what you choose to surround yourself with; how your decorate. This is the very reason decorating is so much fun. There are no wrong answers, just personal preferences. How you live your life should be reflected in your decorating style.
Like many people, I think the French Country style of decorating is romantic and whimsical. However, I live with my husband, our four active children, a dog, rabbit and the five chickens. Needless to say, a style based on the use of whites don't always fit with a family of muddy shoes, pet and soccer balls.
The way you chose to decorate your home should be a reflection of the way you live. Practical, sentimental, inspiring and with things you think are beautiful. That's the definition of Living Lola Style!
In our home, we are all about family. Framed family photos are eclectically arranged on the walls in our living room. We like to spend time together as a family - and we collect board games. In our family room we have a wall of games displayed. It inspires us to make time for one another and to play games. I love anything industrial. On our front porch we have an old set of gym lockers. They serve as a decorative focal point, yet are very functional, serving as a catch-all for balls, shoes and book bags.
